The Trujillo family continues to preserve the craft of weaving brought to Chimayó in the 1700's by our Spanish colonial ancestors. We are a family business producing and selling hand woven Rio Grande and Chimayó-style blankets, rugs, vests and handbags. We also offer many other traditional Spanish and Native American arts and crafts including pottery, jewelry, and woodcarvings.
Monday thru Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
The Vigil family has been weaving under their current roof since 1989, creating one-of-a-kind textiles in the Rio Grande/Chimayó/Contemporary style. In 2006 we started to help raise animals at several farms along the Rio Grande river basin to sustain our shop with quality fibers and for sale to other individuals wanting quality fibers. We hand spin only a few textiles a year in the Rio Grande/Chimayó tradition, for which we pick local vegetation for the natural dying process. We are a small family operation that also conducts workshops in fiber related techniques for individuals to produce quality textiles for personal use, employment with other shops, or for individual sales. We pride ourselves on quality, not quantity of textiles. Rose holds degrees in business, art, and psychology. Eugene has many generations of textile knowledge and is a master woodworker. Los Vigiles is the home of the "Chimayó Production Loom," designed by Rose and built by Eugene. We are dealers of other fine art and craft items and equipment, all of which we proudly represent in our studio.
